I am Arundhati Sheolikar Date, a dedicated Dhrupad vocalist committed to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of Hindustani classical music. My musical journey began in childhood under the tutelage of my father, Shri Sudhakar Sheolikar. I later deepened my craft by studying the Dhrupad style with the renowned Acharya Bimalendu Mukherjee and through the traditional Guru Shishya Parampara under the esteemed Late Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar.

A Legacy of Excellence

I am fortunate to come from a family with deep roots in Indian classical arts:

  • Grandfather: Shri Rambhau Sheolikar, a well-known violinist.

  • Father: Shri S. R. Sheolikar, a renowned sitarist.

  • Brother: Shri Avaneendra Sheolikar, an "A Grade" AIR sitarist who performs globally.

  • Sister: Smt. Anupreeta Joshi, a graceful Kathak dancer.

Professional Journey & Achievements

Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my dedication to the Dhrupad genre and have had the honor of performing on international stages.

  • Honors & Scholarships: Recipient of the National Scholarship (Dhrupad Category) from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (1997), and a two-year Dhrupad Scholarship from the North American Dhrupad Association (1999).

  • Notable Performances: I have performed at the Khajuraho Music Festival, Dhrupad Mela (2018), and Subah E Banaras (2018). Most recently, I performed at the ICMC (DFW) in 2023.

  • Collaborations: I had the distinct privilege of accompanying my guru, Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar, in prestigious concerts such as "Kumbha Samman" and "Har Wallabh Mahotsav".

  • Broadcasting: I am a recognized Radio Artist for All India Radio, Pune.
